    Sonoyta Bridge?

I'm surprised the federal government is not yet involved as this cluster in Sonoyta has got to be impacting trucking commerce - isn't Highway 2 the main East/West thoroughfare? I understand that it is also a raging river under the bridge near "The Curve" - hope that bridge survives.

September is the big month for RP - this has got to be having a financial impact.

Sonoyta Bridge Politics as Usual, Introducing your new Gringo Toll!!

It's not a matter of control but cooperation. Valley Metro cities work together all the time. I do understand its Mexico though and that is a huge handicap from the get go. I just hate to see any more obstacles for PP than need to be and this is almost completely self inflicted.

Sonoyta Bridge Politics as Usual, Introducing your new Gringo Toll!!

Yes, but PP is at least 5 times the size of Sonoyta and as Sonoyta is the main gateway to PP, they should take as much interest in the project as possible including assisstance with that mess they call a detour.

    Sonoyta Bridge?

I suppose the authorities should have shored up the detour route long before starting demolishion on the bridge. Shows a complete lack of planning. Maybe they just crossed their fingers and hoped for a very dry monsoon. If I were Penasco, I would be sending whatever help they can because this...

Anyone witness the banana pangas incident?

No signs of anything Monday morning. Plus nothing on news. Would have thought a story like that would be front page.

Mexico Issues Travel Warning For Chicago

No - this is not a real headline but it should be after reading this article : 19 people shot Thursday afternoon, Friday morningBy Peter Nickeas, Tribune reporter 2:06 am, August 24, 2012 Nineteen people were shot in attacks across the South and West sides between about 5:20 p.m. Thursday and...

    Sonoyta Bridge?

I guess the diversion through Penasco wouldn't be bad if they weren't checking all the trucks - it creates a huge backup - then people start to make their own lanes and the it becomes a bit chaotic. I wish there was better traffic control.

    Sonoyta Bridge?

I noticed a large amount of semi trucks driving south and north today between RP and Sonoita - does this have to do with the bridge just collapsing between Sonoita and San Luis? Plus, it created a huge backup at the traffic circle just north of Penasco - the army was checking every car...

    Sonoyta Bridge?

Crossed today at 2:00 p.m. - no traffic - water flowing underneath - the road leading down on both sides is getting torn to shreds = lots of semi trucks and with all the rain - the roads in Sonoita are getting pretty awful.

Warning - Don't Travel to Wisconsin!

Now another shooting in Detroit. The ironic thing is - is that it appears most of the violence in Mexico is bad guy on bad guy or bad guy on law enforcement. Most of the violence in the united states is bad guy on innocent victims. Not that there isn't run of the mill burglary, robbery etc -...

Warning - Don't Travel to Wisconsin!

Where are the screaming headlines on this one? Where is the consulate warning? I would like to see stats on the number of "foreign visitors" that are victims of crime when visiting the U.S. - i have to imagine it is much higher than those visiting Mexico - but i'm just playing a hunch.

Yet an even worse News Article in the AZ Republic.

I much rather prefer Mexican national visitors to Americans anyway - far less obnoxious

Rocky Point Crime: Are we there yet?

I believe the home invasion was targeted. It makes no other sense. There are dozens of vacant homes that could be broken into with no chance of violence. The hoa is keeping mum which I believe is wrong since they have a duty to inform us home owners.

    Highway from Sonoita Flooded

We left town at about 12:15 today - got into Sonita and across the detour relatively quickly - crossed back into the US quick and just past the Visitor's Center in Organ Pipe a wall of water came down on use. We continued for some distance getting through one wash before coming to a standstill...

    Highway from Sonoita Flooded

Please update this. Had a friend leave rp this morning and was stuck in Sonoyta for 2 hours to get through detour. He had come through yesterday only to turn around when told of the delay in Organ Pipe. We are coming down Thursday evening and hope everything is dried out by then.

    Great Weekend, Horrific Ending

We were coming through Gila Bend at around 5:30 last night and the detour signs were just being removed at that point - the road was closed down until then.
