Well JJ, you do not know Mr. Brylcream very well. The only shirt I have ever seen him wearing is a solid color, long sleeved shirt. I do not see the “ Hawaiian shirt” kind of of person lurking under all the Brylcream.
We are having a small wager on the content of today’s “IPX Daniel Butterfield Show”.

If "that GUY", is Half or Nit ..... I got a phone call from him and I can tell you this much. There is no love lost in his dealings with DB. If DB was on fire, I doubt he would piss on him to put it out!
In that exchange on the video, DB makes it look like they are besties. Nothing could be further from the truth. Oh, they had met in RP long before the resurrection of Esmeralda, but it was a casual encounter. Yes, he made comments on the video about how good it would be if IPX had a good plan to get Esmeralda finished. That would be good for the Point. In the video DB says, we'll talk later in a private session. THAT SESSION WENT POORLY.
He and his wife are condo "owners" from Gus. No condo, no deposit returned. And he was told in private that no one would get their original down payment back, with or without the interest due. Now, to answer
That's what he tried to do.... in order to honor their condo purchase, he told him they would need to put up more $. It sounded to me like DB wanted the full purchase price if they wanted their condo built.
Of course, John said hell no! And hasn't spoken to DB since. Did any of the other 120 or so bite? Doubtful.. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you. They had long ago realized they would never see that money or their condo.
John said that legal action has never been a realistic option for them, because it would be under Mexico's jurisdiction. He may rethink this, and get advice based on the IPX purchase. But the Sandy Beach LLC that's part of the whole scheme is a Mexican corp. And everything is basically done through them. That is part of the charges by the corp commission: that investors THOUGHT the were directly investing in Esmeralda, when in reality their notes clearly state the $ went to IPX for any and all their business related expenses.
So, I want to publicly apologize to John and Kathy Witt for the negative and unkind comments my post generated. Theirs is not one of the asses I am out to kick. They are among the first skeletons left in the wake of this disaster.
Well sorry about the half Witt remark...hey he lives in RP and pointing the finger at something that Gus Brown may have some involvement in would be unwise....still makes you wonder how a smart guy like him signed that in the first place? How man realtors made money on Esmerelda? Did they ever pay any back?
That is an issue ignored by AMPi and Realtors here. They usually grab the commission from the first money to pass. If the sale is never completed they do not reimburse the commission. Remember the ownership of the property does not pass hands from the seller to the buyer until the ownership papers (Bank Trust) are issued in the name of the buyer. No self respecting realtor will wait a year to collect their money. Never mind there was actually no sale completed.

The Cholla Bay HOA has a lien against the Esmerelda to ensure that water and sewer for Cholla are completed, since the Esmerelda was sold, what happened to the lien the Cholla Bay HOA had?
Oh and I'm not holding my breath for the utilities to be completed,
Because inquiring minds , “want to know”........can we find out the actual outcome of the HOA lien and what is the deal with utilities? It doesn’t (really) matter anymore, I suppose, the whole Esmeralda experiment is imploding before our eyes. Just would be good to know the truth.
Did he lose real dollars or profits from commissions...you know the realtor line " I believe in this deal so much I bought two condos". the question is ..with whose money?
I would hope they would talk about it at the next HOA meeting. Perhaps some CBHOA member will be there to ask about it.
I heard that Penasco is very interested in getting water and (sewer??) to Cholla but need to find a funding source to do it.
The water is a major issue because since early March the water fill station in Cholla has been dry starting Thurs afternoon.
When I left early Sat. morning one of the drivers slept there waiting for it to start flowing, it wasn't and there was a long list of people needing water.
Had the displeasure of meeting Daniel Butterfield on 4/15/18 at Colin's Cantina. It was just after 3pm and DB was s*itfaced. After about an hour of being insulted by his drunken remarks (can't tell you how many times he called us stupid not to mention the Fbombs) we left rather than get into a physical confrontation with him. Oh we saw him around 8pm, shocked he was still standing, again I thought a fight was upon us after getting stared down by him.
I learned the next day, a phone call was made and "Steve" showed up to escort him out of the restaurant. I also found out this was not his only drunken tirade at Colins. In fact the last time this happen the Puerto Penasco police were called to remove him.
After asking more questions, I put two and two together and realized exactly who this idiot was.
What a great individual DB is....a drunken DUI drug taken s*it talking scam artist.
Was the abusive language , “ unprovoked”?
You were dining and he started in?
Did he recognize you (possibly) and thus began the tirade?
Was he by himself ?
This his normal evening entertainment, to get drunk and spew epithets at strangers?
We walked into Colins sat down at the bar and had never met the guy before.
He basically started in right away with us. We did try to engage in a civil conversation with him but it turned quickly to his insults towards us. We then tried to ignore him which also did not work but as my friend said....I have never met a stranger I did not like until now.
He was rude, verbally abused and honestly just an ass.
He was there with his "girlfriend" and I was told the little girl who appeared to be about 3 years old was her child.
His actions were completely unprovoked. At one point he started counting outloud.....as he put it at all the stupid people he saw while staring right at us.
Oh and he grabbed the tip jar and was taking money out of it until one of the female employees took it from him and emptied it.
Like I said before we were getting off the elevator and there he was. He followed us in the parking lot and again stared at us like he was mad dogging us..
He is a total idiot.
Sounds like DB has a drinking problem exacerbated by his professional life falling apart?
The kind of helpful info you only see on Facebook in glimpses...then it goes poof...because....they pretty much are real estate shyster controlled....oh except for the one controlled by the tequila taste room that minimizes and victim shames to cover for the cop harassment threads......still, I love Sonora...
