We went by Playa Azul last weekend, and they are actually working on this. They are using "eco-block" to finish the work, and we went into several rooms to see the progress.

Where would I find information on the Cholla HOA? Is this an issue that is just with the Esmeralda or all new /unfinished development?
Ok. I found the HOA site.

Was curious if there has been any new action on the building of the "port"?
They need a billion pesos..most likely 2 in the real world then add 30% for standard Mexican Government business practices ( graft) and the old dead whale, beach eroder, pollution factory will be up and running ....

Simply put, no. Nothing going on, since much of the money allocated for this conveniently found its way into the former Governor's pocket.

Anybody remember "Wendy?" The cute spokesperson for the project? Wonder what she's doing these days? (I was going to be mean and say Guau Guau - bwahahah! Girl gotta make a living, yanno?)

Hey Stu............

Last I saw, two weeks ago, those concrete dock blocks were still being poured and stacked up by the thousands. At sunset we saw the two cranes next to the Reef parking lot were both "tits up" with major repairs to the tracks unfinished and the Zip line in the setting sun a freshly forgotten boondoggle. Seems like the attention span of the "fleecers" lasts about as long as long as the "investors" cash gets spent or deposited in a Miami bank account.

Ah, la sabor de Mehico.

I just found an unread, never opened 1961 first edition of The Children of Sanchez by Oscar Lewis at a local junk book store for EIGHT DOLLARS! An amazing read of certainly soon to be banned RACIST scientific FACT. If anyone has not read it it'll be an eye opener to la cultura de Mehico. It was a required read for me in my first Spanish language class back in 1964. Couldn't stand reading it because it had nothing to do with learning the Spanish language. Guess the teacher thought it would get us closer to la sabor de Mehico.

JJ...

Seems the only one that believes the cruise ship port will soon become a reality is Mr. Butterfield (and anyone he manages to convince) as he is still using that as the central theme as to why Esmarelda is a great "investment opportunity" in all of his advertising, which I hear constantly on the radio.

Time will tell, I suppose. But, I'll likely be dead and gone by the time it becomes reality.

New question.
Got a "come see what's happening " note from DB. He says there is great headway occurring on Esmeralda. Finishing up on 2 buildings.
Do you see 350 workers? Is there a cloud of construction dust surrounding it? Or is it just smoke?

There is a big “show and tell” tomorrow in Phoenix at IPX for DB to show his progress on Esmeralda and talk about all of his big plans for Rocky Point. He is way ahead of plans and He says he has plans to purchase another resort?
I want to know if there are signs of growth in Rocky Point besides Esmeralda. Did the issue of the Water treatment/sewer get resolved?
I am not going down his “windfall” road but it would be interesting to know how RP is progressing.
We were down there when we were in college.......many years ago....

Just need to know if there has been any work being done on the port. Money was allocated months ago. I am told it will be finished in a year. What do you see happening?
Any new construction happening besides what is occurring on the Esmeralda?

Horace, he (Brylcreem Boy) is still advertising nonstop. His most recent come on is make a million by buying two condos now AND paying 15% on your money in the meantime.

Color me very skeptical. But if you've got that kind of money to invest in a project that is all dependent on the cruise port being finished... well...

In the immortal words of SpongeBob Squarepants.... Good luck with that!

OK, I'm back and have a question the Esmeralda investors (not me... but my friends) cannot seem to get answered. I told them to contact Cholla Bay HOA, but don't know the answer yet. IS THERE A LIEN ON ESMERALDA UNTIL INFRASTRUCTURE REQUIREMENTS are done?

Are there really 250 workers building Esmeralda or anyone working there? Has anything changed from a year ago?

For the lien info check the Cholla bay hoa meeting minutes from Feb or Mar 2017 on the lien. This week maybe 15 cars in the esmerelda workers parking lot so 250 workers is unlikely,
