    Holy freakin' cow

So, artisticdiva, there is a recycling center off of Josefa, although I don't know specifically what they do or do not take. Las Conchas has set up a "recycling center" just before the entrance for cardboard, cans, batteries, plastics. They do not accept glass because they say there is no...

    Pulling a trailer

We just crossed last week pulling a closed utility trailer. We had some new patio furniture (still in boxes) that we stopped to voluntarily declare. We had our receipt. They asked to see inside the trailer, didn't even ask to open the boxes and paid no attention to the other items in the...

Help me understand one facet of Obamacare:

My husband and I own a company that hires only union employees. We've successfully run our business for 23 years. The most employees ever was probably 15-20 but we are currently down to 5. We pay over $6 per hour to the union for health care alone and another $7 per hour for pension. We've...

The Department of State has issued this Travel Warning to inform U.S. citizens about

The other fact you guys seem to be overlooking is that Malia is on a school sponsored service project. As a 14 year old she's not on a beer-fueled wild spring romp on the beach! Bravo for her trip to Mexico to do something worth while.

Better Sunset Experience: La Cava Music Bar or La Casa del Capitan?

I think the food at the Lighthouse is "better" than at El Capitan. The coconut shrimp is actually excellent. But what is fun is to order Mexican Coffee. They make it at your table and it's quite the show with flaming tequila. Worth a visit just for that.

    Quilting Classes

Great. What can you use most? Should I just bring quilting fabric? Or do they need thread, needles, rulers? Books, patterns? I'd like to bring what will be the most useful for the students.

    Quilting Classes

Earlier this year someone posted pictures of a quilting class graduation. Are those classes still being offered? If so, are there any needs for the participants like fabric or tools? We're coming down Dec. 12 and I could probably add some items to my luggage if there is a need.

    Mare Blu Bistro

My daughters and I had a really wonderful lunch there - the food was excellent (as good as at Mare Blu by the Reef) and the waiter was very attentive and polite. The old location had nothing going for it though so looking forward to trying the new one. And looking forward to visiting Pane and...
